Alexander Vindman, a key witness in Donald Trump’s impeachment inquiry, was “escorted out of the White House” after the president said Friday he was “not happy” with the National Security Council’s director of European affairs.
His lawyer confirmed in a statement the US Army lieutenant colonel was leaving his post early ahead of his planned July departure.
David Pressman, Mr Vindman’s attorney, said in the statement: “Today, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman was escorted out of the White House where he has dutifully served his country and his President.”
